Meet Volunteer Forrest White
I first met Forrest White in Hillside Court. His church, Trinity United Methodist Church, has been actively engaging the Oak Grove community for several years through the Oak Grove Micah Initiative. As the Youth and Missions Director, Forrest wanted to learn more about what was going on in the south side and has joined our Community Advisory Team which is made up of local pastors from the area and from outside the area who are working together to meet the needs of the south side communities of Bellmeade, Oak Grove and Hillside. See Unity Day Celebration for an example of the projects this team is working on.
Forrest, a former newspaper reporter for 2 South Carolina papers, has spent the past 14 years on staff at Trinity United Methodist Church. During that time Forrest led nearly three dozen short-term mission teams. He is a firm believer in the centrality of mission in Christian formation and believes all church ministries for both the young and the old should be built around serving others. Forrest is the lead trainer for United Methodist Church, Virginia conference mission’s team. He is married and has three children and is a graduate of Wofford college.
Forrest has also joined our Northside Dream Team and we are thankful for the gifts, talents and passion he brings to our teams.
THANK YOU FORREST!
