Monacan & Roger

Yesterday, May 22, Embrace Richmond hosted Monacan High School’s Humanities 10th grade classes. Forty Four students returned for the second time to do their part to serve the community. They were divided into groups that included building beds, sorting bedding, and preparing clothing for donation. After working, they ate lunch and listened to Roger Hines, an Embrace Richmond intern, as he told his story of addiction and grace. A Dream Realized on MLK Day

This was a day where people from all walks of life joined together to serve for the common purpose of giving back to the homeless population. That day we are proud to say that friendships were made by people who probably would never have crossed paths as they served together on their different projects. Adults worked along side youth, black worked with white, the homeless worked with the community at large, it was about serving and nothing more.
