The goal of our Dream Works program is to connect neighborhood leaders with a network of caring individual who will help them bring their dreams to life. These radically diverse groups include individuals from our urban neighborhoods, individuals from our partnering congregations as well as concerned citizens from all across metro Richmond. We call these groups our Dream Teams. Below is a brief description of our Dream Teams:
Brandermill Dream Team: This team is focused on strengthening families in the Hillside Court community. There are two sub-teams, one focused on supporting single mothers and the second focused on youth in both the Hillside and Northside communities. This group meets on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month at Brandermill Church from 11:00-12:30.
Salisbury Dream Team: This team is focused on using community gardening as a means of addressing food scarcity as well as building a sense of community across socioeconomic divides. This team meets at Salisbury Presbyterian Church on the 3rd Wednesday evening of the month and engages in community gardening activities on the 1st Saturday of the month at various locations.
Northside Dream Team: This team is focused on discerning the gifts, passions, talents and needs of the near north side communities along the Brookland Park Boulevard Corridor. This team is co-sponsored by Northminster Church and meets at Twiggy’s Panamanian Caribbean American Cuisine which is located at 212 Brookland Park Boulevard. This group meets at Twiggy’s on the 1st Wednesday of the month from 5:00-7:00 and we serve the community together on the 3rd Sunday of the month.
