Embrace Richmond has been strengthening neighborhoods across Metro Richmond for more than a decade. During that time we have developed an asset-based development approach we call our “Inside Out Community Strengthening Process.”

In 2014, with the launch of our Great Neighbor Academy, we began coaching and training congregational and community leaders in this process with the goal of expanding asset-based community development efforts across Metro Richmond and beyond. More than 100 leaders have graduated from our training programs in the first year alone.

Embrace has been offering micro-grants to neighborhood residents to support community building efforts since 2013. This year we have added grants to support community listening efforts as well as funding to support training and coaching to our Great Neighbor Grants Program.

In 2015 we expanded our work with youth and young adults with the expansion of our service learning opportunities and the launch of our Young Leaders Program. We believe youth and young adults are the most powerful force in strengthening communities into the future so we have made significant investments in creating internships, fellowships and service learning opportunities.

Thank you all for your support and for helping Embrace to expand our impact in Richmond neighborhoods and beyond.
